Shannons SpeedSeries Delivers Thrilling Action at LIQUI MOLY GT Festival The Bend

The second round of the 2026 Shannons SpeedSeries delivered another action-packed weekend as competitors took to the track at The Bend Motorsport Park for the LIQUI MOLY GT Festival The Bend.


Under perfect racing conditions, drivers across multiple categories produced thrilling battles, dramatic comebacks and historic moments as the championship calendar continued to gather momentum.

GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS


Tigani Motorsport continued its dominant form with another clean sweep of victories, this time courtesy of Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti.

Driving the Move My Wheels Mercedes-AMG, Lucchitti held firm under immense pressure in the closing laps to edge out Brad Schumacher in the Kelso Electrical/Team MPC Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, securing the team’s second victory of the 2026 season.


The podium battle remained fierce throughout, with Mark Rosser charging through the field in the Castrol Team BRM Audi to secure third alongside co-driver Thomas Randle.


In Trophy Class, Paul Stokell and Matt Stoupas delivered another commanding performance to repeat their Saturday success.

Monochrome GT4 Australia


The weekend’s biggest talking point came in Monochrome GT4 Australia, where a late safety car reshuffled the order and paved the way for a historic result.


Summer Rintoule etched her name into the record books as the first female race winner in the category, teaming up with Jarrod Hughes to claim Silver Cup victory in the Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4.


Behind them, Aaron Cameron and Lochie Dalton secured second for Multispares Racing, while teammates Cam McLeod and Mason Harvey rounded out the podium.


Silver-Am honours went to Ryder Quinn after a sensational final stint in the Thunder Buddies Racing BMW M4 GT4. Quinn and co-driver Steve Jakic held off a determined challenge from the Exedra Motorsport Toyota Supra pairing.


Race 2 saw Nathan Callaghan and Chris Lillis bounce back in style, taking victory in the Method Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS.

Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge


A single 45-minute endurance race produced one of the weekend’s standout performances as rookie sensation Kobi Williams broke the Sonic dominance to secure his second win of the season for Tyler Greenbury Motorsport.


A dramatic late-race battle saw long-time leader Hayden Haikal slip back to third, while James Lodge impressed on his season debut for Jones Motorsport to finish second and claim the round victory.

Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia


Josh Anderson backed up his strong Saturday performance by taking out the Ambrose Cup component of Round 2.


A clean getaway allowed Anderson to control the race ahead of Jack Perkins, while maiden pole-sitter Joe Fawcett completed the podium.

Meanwhile, John Goodacre claimed top honours in the Dark Horse Legends category.

Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia


Redemption was the theme in Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia as Steve Wyatt responded to Saturday heartbreak by storming to victory in Trofeo Pirelli.


Wyatt finished ahead of Enzo Cheng and Jim Pollicina, while Coppa Shell celebrated a fresh winner with Andrew Cogan taking top honours.

Elsewhere, Ross Tomain continued his remarkable run of form, making it four consecutive Trofeo Pirelli 488 victories after defeating Stephen Coe in the weekend finale.

Next Stop: Queensland Raceway


With another spectacular weekend complete, attention now turns to the next round of the 2026 Shannons SpeedSeries, which heads north to Queensland Raceway for the LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Queensland Raceway from June 12–14.


As the season heats up, fans can expect even more high-stakes action as Australia’s premier circuit racing categories continue their charge toward championship glory.
