The Mt Buller Sprint finally returns in 2026, reigniting one of Australia’s most highly requested tarmac rally events. Across two & a half days, competitors will tackle the legendary 15.5km ascent from Mirimbah to the summit of Mount Buller, taking on multiple runs across the weekend.

Please note: this event is strictly limited to full competition vehicles that have been specifically built for tarmac rally competition in accordance with our regulations. Entry applications from competitors who have not previously competed in ATR events, or who are unable to demonstrate sufficient motorsport experience, will not be accepted. Road cars, tour vehicles, and speed-limited entry applications are not eligible for this event.

The action begins on Friday, 13 February, with documentation and scrutineering held in the Mt Buller Village from 9am to 12pm, followed by the official event briefing at the Mt Buller Cinema at 1pm and the first-timer’s briefing shortly after.

As the road closes from 2pm, the event officially kicks off with two short shakedown stages (SS1 & SS2 - 1.6km each) to pay homage to the original format of the event in the early 2000's. Crews will then gather for Welcome Drinks at the Kooroora Hotel from 5:45pm.

Saturday, 14 February sees the rally move into full swing, with the mountain road closed from 7:30am. Competitors will face four exhilarating stages throughout the day (SS3–SS6) along the full-length course between Mirimbah and Mt Buller, with service and refuelling exclusively at Mirimbah Park.

On Sunday, 15 February, the challenge continues with another three timed runs (SS7–SS9) before the weekend culminates for the Official Trophy Presentation & Park Party at Mirimbah Park from 4pm.

With no official Parc Fermé location in place, competitors have the freedom to select and manage their own accommodation arrangements - whether that be on Mt Buller, in Mansfield or nearby in Merijig or Sawmill Settlement.
